Oh Mexico, how I love you! I recently traveled to the Yucatan and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The weather was hot, the drinks were cold, and the adventures were endless. If you're planning a trip to the Yucatan, let me give you a little rundown on what I did and what you should add to your itinerary. First up was Tulum. I stayed in a cute little hotel on the beach that had the most amazing views. If you're a history buff, you'll love Tulum. The ancient ruins were breathtaking and the view from the top of the pyramid was unforgettable. I also highly recommend renting a bike and cruising around the town. The street art is amazing and you're sure to find some hidden gems. Next up was Valladolid. This charming little city stole my heart. I stayed in a colonial-style hotel that was just too cute for words. The highlight of my time in Valladolid was definitely the cenotes. These natural swimming holes were like something out of a dream. Make sure to bring a waterproof camera because you'll want to capture every moment. After Valladolid, I made my way to Chichen Itza. This ancient city is a wonder of the world for a reason. The history and architecture are truly astounding. TIP: Make sure to arrive early to beat the crowds and the heat. I also recommend taking a guided tour to learn even more about this fascinating city. Next on the list was Merida. This city has such a fun vibe - the nightlife is bumping and the food is amazing. If you love a good margarita, you need to try the ones at La Negrita. They're made with fresh-squeezed lime juice and are downright dangerous. I also recommend checking out the local market - you can find everything from handmade souvenirs to delicious street food. Finally, I ended my trip in Cancun. While it's definitely more touristy than the other places I visited, it's still worth a visit. The beaches are beautiful and there are plenty of options for food and entertainment. If you're feeling adventurous, I recommend taking a day trip to Isla Mujeres. This little island is paradise and the perfect place to soak up some sun and relax.
