Fault Lines In Ontario Canada Map

Lake Ontario Fault Line Map

Hey Farmers!

Did you know that Lake Ontario sits on top of a fault line? That's right, there's a fault line right underneath our beautiful lake that is capable of producing earthquakes.

The Lake Ontario fault line stretches from the west end of the lake all the way to the Thousand Islands region. It's not a very active fault line, but it has produced earthquakes in the past.

So what does this mean for us Farmers? Well, it's always good to be prepared for an earthquake, no matter how unlikely it may seem. Here are some tips to help you and your family stay safe in the event of an earthquake:

  • Have an emergency kit ready with supplies such as water, food, first aid kit, flashlights, and a whistle.
  • Know how to turn off your gas, water, and electricity in case they need to be shut off after an earthquake.
  • If you're inside during an earthquake, drop, cover, and hold on. Drop to the ground, take cover under a sturdy piece of furniture, and hold on until the shaking stops.
  • If you're outside during an earthquake, move away from buildings, trees, and power lines. Drop to the ground and cover your head and neck with your hands.
  • If you're in your car during an earthquake, pull over to a clear location and stay inside your car until the shaking stops.

Remember, earthquakes can happen anywhere at any time, so it's important to always be prepared. Stay safe and happy farming!
